Tuesday Cross-Fit

On Tuesday in the AM, Keith and I took a little walk up Sulphur Mountain before I went to work. I am making an effort to improve my walking and put a little more "power" in my "power walk". Aaaaah. Be it that it is June in Banff, we were greeted with fresh snow on the trail.

Practice the Power!!

I can tell ya, I need some practice. The boy had much more power in his power walk than myself! At the top, we popped out of the cloud line and got us a glimpse of sunshine and some mountain views.

Keith was whining when we started, but he was smiling at the end. He just needed a cup of coffee and a walk and it was all good.

Keith's speciality: photos of me with no feet.

With all of the hype I have heard about CrossFit, I thought I would start a Banff contingent. Today, I practiced my "power lifting" as well as my "power walking". Today's CrossFit workout:

100 metres push of the Ice Explorer
100 x Dead Lifts

100 x Explorer Exploder Squats

I am, in fact, superwoman so don't try this at home kids.

It does get warm! It's getting warm right now! I'm going to go out and explore this weekend and do some hard-core "post-holing" which is a local speciality of the trail running scene in June. :)
And great CrossFit!

I'll get a photo of that stretch up soon....m'k?

Leslie - I'm scared of bears!! I want to be able to go out and do a 30+ km by myself but I'm terrified! I don't know how you do it! I've been trying to hook up with the Trail Trash group here in Calgary but it seems lately I can't make the day they're going!! Argh!

Oh, I thought everyone who did crossfit lifted huge glacier cats, or whatever the hell you call that monolith!

By the way, I love to mountain bike, rock climb, speed walk, trail run, canoe, road bike, and pretty much anything fun outdoors, so when I come visit, the ski is the limit! I'm trying to get out there in August to see my dad (he lives near Hinton). I would like to hike up Mt. Lady McDonald and see if my note is still at the summit. It was my first scramble in the Rockies.

Helloooooo ladies!

Deb, I've got your e-mail so I'll let you know if I'm doing anything special. Generally, this time of year I'm gearing up and I go long on all 3 days of my weekend. Don't let the bear thingy stop you!

Hi Deanna!
I hope we can make it work in August, that would be awesome. Early August is good, late August is busy-busy-busy.

You are SO SILLY!!! Always good for a laugh.
Shame on me for getting behind on my blogging.
So, if I don't have a full-size Ice Explorer, can I use a Matchbox fire engine instead? Will I get extra points if I make engine noises as I push it across the carpet?

Love it!

I leave a leave a response each time I especially enjoy a post on a site
or if I have something to contribute to the conversation.
Usually it's a result of the fire communicated in the post I browsed. And on this post "Tuesday Cross-Fit". I was moved enough to drop a thought ;-) I actually do have a couple of questions for you if you usually do not mind. Could it be just me or does it give the impression like a few of the remarks come across like coming from brain dead visitors? :-P And, if you are posting at additional online sites, I'd like
to keep up with you. Could you list all of your community pages like your twitter feed, Facebook page or
linkedin profile?
